Looking for a boat from New Zealand to Fiji, New-Caledonia, Vanuatu or Southeast Asia
I’m Julie, a French traveler who goes wherever the wind takes me.
I left France almost two years ago and have been traveling around Southeast Asia before ending up in Australia, where I had my first sailing experience. I spent a little over a month helping Gleen, my previous captain, repair the Sang Bayu, a 19m sailboat. Unfortunately, we only managed a one-week trip — due to a sail issue, we had to return to Australia instead of exploring Vanuatu, Fiji, and New Caledonia. That short, intense, and fascinating adventure has stayed in the back of my mind ever since.
I’ve now been in New Zealand for the past eight months and will be here until December 2025. I’d love to get back into sailing — I’m up for day trips from Auckland, and I’m also looking for a longer-term stay with a friendly captain. I’d love to explore more of this part of the world. My plan is no plan :) The only thing I know is that I want to be in the Philippines around March 2026.
I’m looking for a spot as a novice crew member or volunteer. Excited to meet passionate sailors who can share their knowledge and teach me the ropes of managing and living aboard a sailing boat. :)
I’m a quick learner, I enjoy cooking (mostly vegetarian but also meat and fish), and I love a slow-paced life surrounded by nature — reading, writing, and taking photos.
