Sea Miles 10,000+
40 years maritime experience comes from a early start in life; erstwhile a commercial fisherman and he later graduated to founding and operator of a marine business (Global Marine & Engineering Pty Ltd) with a fleet of tugs and barges, and well over 50 crew. His scope of work included off shore construction, towage, rescue and salvage, dredging, surveying, mooring installations (one of the southern hemispheres largest mooring systems). In support of his off shore projects he also operated 2 interstate marine engineering and fabrication harbour yards
There is no doubting the skills of Robin our captain. Now retired he has spent the last 5 years rebuilding our private vessel "saltydogz" to a standard that has astounded fellow mariners. Fabrication, electronics, engineering and systems have been diligently applied so that we can for all intent and purposes, we can safely navigate in most conditions. Whilst we choose to cruise in calm weather, (who doesn't) the ocean can often be unpredictable. Robin likes to be prepared for the worse, not just for our own safety but for other mariners that may be in need of help. He has also taken into account comfort, practicality and durability of our vessel, so that all crew can feel assured of their safety and can enjoy to the best any conditions that can arise at sea.
