I have been sailing on and off since the 1980s, with roughly 3,000 NM of coastal and offshore experience. Throughout my career I’ve managed complex projects requiring team building, tight deadlines, financial constraints, and thoughtful risk management. For example, I started a small flight school and taught people to use airplanes for personal transportation. That experience still shapes my approach to seamanship—structured training, calm decision-making, and a disciplined attitude toward risk management.

I’m starting the Ice Frontiers project to develop a more engaging and positive narrative around climate change over the next ten years. As part of this process, I’m assembling a team of volunteers with complementary strengths—offshore sailing, engineering, media, and cold-weather operations.

I’m looking for collaborators who value seamanship, curiosity, and purposeful work over “lifestyle cruising.”
