Dear fellows sailors,
We are a Franco-Canadian couple, in love with blue water and long distance sailing.
Our conception of sailing is : Autonomy, pleasure of being at sea, seriousness and humour in sailing behavior.
Very much interested in Explorations process, true respect for nature and mankind, we are trying to enhance human skills and perceptions, in this age of technology where it is easy to simulate or manipulate everything ; we believe that human techniques must be at the heart of the art of sailing.
We are here for sharing tips and sometimes knowledge ;)
We are not a sailing school, we do not delivering any diploma of all kind. But we may help you to organize your skills into a coherent pattern, especially for ocean sailing.
We also organize RYA type passages, compliant with YM Offshore and YM Ocean requirements.
You are expected to be fully involved into every duties and activities onboard, accordingly to your abilities. We will of course support you in every aspects of life on a sailing boat at sea.

Boat descriptionOur Ocean Cruiser/Racer is a fast, comfortable and seaworthy 55 ft BALTIC YACHT, prepared for expeditions in remote areas : - 16.7 m long, 5m width, weighting 22 tons ; - Wide and cosy saloon ; - Fully equipped kitchen - 3 cabins with en suite shower/toilets ; - Single beds, with nice bedding furnished ; - Full set of composite INCIDENCE & QUANTUM Sails, for ultimate sailing experience ; - Water, food and Fuel for 4 weeks in complete autonomy ; - YANMAR 125 Hp Engine Thermal insulation, well sheltered cockpit, and three separate efficient heating systems (REFLEKS stove at mooring, EBERSPACHER 8kW at sea and engine heated warm air system). Standing rigging replaced in 2022, as well as new mainsail. New Blast Reacher in 2024, new staysail 2025. Running rigging replaced and updated 2023 and 2025.

Aviles to Azores

Joined Stephane for a passage from Aviles to the Azores, which I used as my Ocean qualifying passage. I was made very welcome on board his very well maintained and comfortable boat from the start. Stephane runs a very happy and relaxed boat and goes out his way to make sure that you are well looked after and well fed on passage. Stephane has a wealth of maritime knowledge which I certainly benefited from both by observation and discussion. I would not hesitate to recommend sailing with Stephane and I’m contemplating doing so again if he does ventures into the high latitudes.

Excellent Captain, Incredible Company

I stayed with Stephane for about a month in 2018. He welcomed me onto his boat and treated me like family. Working with him was a genuine pleasure, and his passion for sailing and the sea is contagious. I would highly recommend a trip with him and the Grynning to any person wishing to get out on the water.
