Easygoing Cape Horn vet who coaches new owners wanting to maximize their enjoyment on the water.
Hi - I hold a RYA Yachtmaster Offshore CoC and have sailed more than 150,000 miles, many racing and often single-handed. I recently sailed my own boat in the Southern Ocean and rounded Cape Horn, I can celestial navigate, pilot, fix, steer and pretty much do anything that needs to be done to safely and securely get a vessel from where it is to wherever it needs to be. I coach owners in order to help them get the most out of the time they spend sailing, whether new to the sport, or veteran sailors.
As examples of what I do, so far in 2023 I have coached an owner of a 43' trimaran during the RORC Caribbean 600 (which I delivered from Boston to Antigua), and coached a crew racing on a 48' Swan in the Heineken Regatta. In 2022 I coached a married couple during the Marion to Bermuda Race, which was the first time they had sailed over the horizon, or raced their boat...and we won our division!
