Watch: Intro to Captain Blue
Exp. Capt. Looking for Permanent Job on Private Yacht; Anywhere in the World...will also consider charter/research boat!
Avast Mateys! - Capt. Blue here; interested in finding a position as a captain on a private or possibly even a charter yacht, preferably in the Caribbean or SEA for the winter months, and the Med for the summer, but willing to travel and work anywhere. I am an internationally licensed captain, with my 200ton commercial certification and 100 ton US Coast Guard license, with around 15knm; plus I am a professional filmmaker.
I have already completed two Caribbean sailing seasons on various sized catamarans, with just me and a chef, doing term charters in the USVI's and BVI's. As captain, I was responsible for all aspects of safety, navigation, boat maintenance, provisioning and more. I have also skippered a season in Greece on a 49; monohull and "crossed the pond", from France to Annapolis, for a catamaran delivery to the Annapolis Boat show. Prior to that, I worked the last few years in Phuket for a charter sailing, sailing school and watersports center, working on a large variety of sailing yachts.
I'm looking forward to meeting some new people and working on various boats. I have experience in sailing regattas and races, off shore cruising and deliveries. I have sailed a variety of boats, from dinghies, smaller cats and trimarans, to larger mono-hulls and cats (40'-60'). Additionally, I can provide a comprehensive log book of all of my miles and boat types for the past 5 years. I have my IYT Master of Yachts 200ton International Commercial License, ICC (for Med Sailing), VHF, First Aid, Life Guard, and PADI Dive Master Cert, and I have my USCG 100 ton commercial master's license.
Hiking, exploring new places, diving, motorcycling, filming and kayaking are also things I love doing, and I am passionate about teaching people to sail as well.
Thanks for reading and I hope to hear from you soon:)
