Looking for a Novice Crew position
Aloha , my name is Mitchell Ruggles. I'm 31 years old, I was born in Las Vegas and raised on the Big Island Hawaii, where I currently live. For work I own and operate a concrete construction company called Custom Concrete Hawaii. We do mostly flat work, house pads, driveways , sidewalks etc.
For fun I play in a heavy metal band called Mataleo ..@mataleo_metalband. I surf , spearfish, freedive , electric skateboard, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitor to name a few, always staying busy. Work hard , play hard..
Sailing around the world has always been a dream of mine that seemed unattainable, until I found out about websites like this. Thought I had to own an expensive boat or know someone who does really well. So I checked out a couple websites and decided to make an account on Crewbay.
What I want from the experience is to make friends that feel like family. Some of the best times of my life have been going on adventures surrounded by friends family and loved ones. I want more of that in my life. I'm hope to find a captain with good leadership skills and the ability to keep a good crew together.
What value I can contribute is a good attitude and strong work ethic. I can cook, clean organize and keep a good attitude. As long as I'm around there won't be dishes in the sink or messes laying around.I'm handy with a tool kit. I've always done my own work on my vehicles and have gotten well over 250k miles out of my vehicles. I'm on 24/7 if you gotta wake me up at 3am for some reason, no problem.
My sailing experience is minimal. I recently joined the local sailing club and have been learning a lot. At this point I can rig and sail a sunfish. Besides that I'm pretty green. I've only been on real sailboats a hand full of times. Some day sails and an overnight snorkel charter when I was younger. So if your looking for some one who wants to learn , I'm your man.

I found a crew on Facebook and have spent the last month or so sailing the Bahamas on SV Pistachio. A 44' Dean Catamaran. We are in Turks and Caicos now. Heading to Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Usvi. Island hoping to Grenada for hurricane season. It's been absolutely amazing I love my capt. And crew. At this point as i burn thru my savings the plan was to go home and pour concrete, but I'd really like to keep the adventure going. I would like to find a paid position. Honestly anything to keep me on the water. Deck hand , charters , delivery. I'm willing to start at the bottom and apply myself.
