Looking for boat in need of competent crew, Mile building or Delivery Crew position
I reside in the Northern Neck of Virginia. I have 20 years sailing experience and 4 years in the Navy, all aboard ship and half that time overseas. I now own and sail a Bristol 30 and a Bayfield 25. Over the last 10 years or so I have owned and restored a Westsail 32, Columbia 26, Pearson 30 and a Pearson Ariel. I have also in the last ten years managed a marina in Kinsale, Virginia.
I have guided boat owners on the Chesapeake Bay (my stomping grounds) usually those boaters coming up the Intracoastal Waterway. I crewed on a 1976 Pearson 365 for a month in the Bahamas before returning her to the Chesapeake Bay. Four times I have delivered/crewed on a Bali 4.8 catamaran (48') from Connecticut and Chesapeake Bay area to Nassau Bahamas for charter service and 60' charter catamaran in US Virgin Islands. 2025 to present I operate a four car cable ferry via the Virginia Dept. of Transportation.
On board duties included night/day watch while underway, helmsman, deckhand, navigation, engine maintenance, watermaker service and of course cleaning and some cooking.
As a U.S. Navy Veteran I have approximately 15K nautical miles aboard ship and over 8000 NM as a civilian. I also served 4 years as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.

1. You want a capable crew member who understands that there is more to learn but willing to help with the skills I do have.
2. An honest and dependable crew member
3. A crew member who will try in every way to make your job easier and adhere to the needs of the boat and other crew members as a whole.
I AM NOT YOUR GUY IF:
1. You are looking for someone to party with.
2. You are lonely and want to share your vacation
3. I am to be a buffer between you and your significant other
4. If you have no idea what you are doing as a boat owner/captain. I am always willing to teach what I do know but you are the person of responsibility.
I'm interested in finding a position as a Competent Crew, First Mate, Mile building or Delivery Crew. I'm looking forward to meeting new people in the boating community!
