Iceland to Ireland – North Atlantic Expedition ??⛵??
24 August – 20 September 2026
Approx. 900 nautical miles • 4 weeks
Join us aboard SY Seafinn, a 56-foot Formosa ketch, for an unforgettable North Atlantic adventure from Iceland to Ireland.
Departing from Iceland, we'll explore some of the wildest and most remote waters in the North Atlantic. Depending on weather and conditions, the route may include stops in the Westman Islands, the Faroe Islands, the Hebrides, or transit through the Caledonian Canal before arriving in Ireland.
This is not a charter or a sightseeing cruise. We operate as a shared-cost sailing expedition, where everyone onboard becomes part of the crew. You'll take part in watches, sail handling, navigation, cooking, and the day-to-day life of an ocean-going sailing vessel.
Expect a mix of offshore passages, coastal cruising, spectacular scenery, wildlife encounters, and the reality of life at sea. Some days bring perfect sailing and stunning sunsets. Others may bring strong winds, rough seas, cold weather, and long watches. That's all part of the adventure.
Whether you're an experienced sailor or someone looking to gain real offshore experience, attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn are more important than sailing qualifications.

Fantastic Experience
I recently completed a 28 day trip from Nassau Bahama to Halifax Nova Scotia aboard Seafinn. Prior to this trip I had no offshore sailing experience. I cannot overstate how fantastic this adventure was. The crew bonded over shared experiences that most people never have. Captain Fredrik is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of his vessel and in navigating ocean crossings. He took his obligations for our safety very seriously and continuously monitored weather forecasts. He provided daily briefings to the crew on weather patterns and his plan of action to address them. The trip was full of amazing sunsets, brilliant constellations, marine mammals, fish and seabirds. If you are looking for for a shared experience sailing a beautiful boat in a natural setting, I highly recommend Captain Fredrik and Seafinn.
