Watch: Easy handling at high speed
Join the crew around the globe or for stages
In 2021 I have started a long term round the globe trip in the Baltic Sea sailing along the Swedish coast, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal to the Canary Islands by the end of November 2022.
On February 2023 we arrived at Martinique after a 18 days crossing of the Atlantic. This season ended in June with the boat now being on the dry at Chaguaramas, Trinidad.
The next season will start in November/December 2023 sailing the West Indies heading North towards the US East coast and later to Canada. Therefore, opportunities will arise along the way.
For gender balance female crew member(s) would match best mostly male crew. We are humorous, kind and highly committed to sail safe and respectful to one another, to the nature and to places we are going to visit. This is all about enjoying life.
The routing format is based on a rather open planning leaving plenty of space and time to visit locations on the go.
My preference is a crew of up to 6 persons where some slots are already taken but openings come and go. Also, I prefer crew that tends to stay longer e.g. 3 weeks and more.
Commitment to be part of a crew and contribute is more important than skills. I can teach you what is needed and bring you up to speed in a short while. If you are looking for a cheap passage or just want to do what you already know, try another boat.
We all contribute to the running cost on an equal basis, this is not for profit. Count for food, diesel and marinas approx. 15 - 40 € per day depending mostly on the use of marinas where costs are higher than at anchor.
I shall update this posting regularly, keep in touch or write a message if you have a question. To follow our route go on Marinetraffic and search for Journeyman under Swiss flag to see the actual position.
Sailing the Caribbean
I have just returned from two wonderful weeks on Journeyman60 sailing the Caribbean, swimming and snorkeling, exploring the islands on foot or by car and just enjoying life. What I really like about Gerhard is that he is not only a great skipper (see all the comments below), but also super interesting as a person, and he always brings together equally interesting people on board. Thank you Gerhard, Ev and Hélène for the many inspiring conversations, laughing and cooking together and improving my French language skills. I had a great time and would love to join again.
