Hi, I'm looking for mile building opportunity's, and making new friends.
Hello there!
At the end of the summer 2025 I wil be an early retiree at the age of 59. From then on I wil be committed to gain a lot of sailing experience and eventually live aboard my own sailing vessel.
Starting from August/September 2025 I will have all the time in the world and it would be amazing to have the opportunity to be part of a crew, preferably in the higher latitudes, but I don't want to be picky, experience counts, on whichever sea or ocean that is.
Last December I completed my RYA Day Skipper theory and I just completed a 6 day/night RYA Competent Crew course here in the Netherlands. I will soon apply for the practical Day Skipper, but haven't set a date yet. In the mean time I'm waiting for my RYA SRC practical exam.
I had done a little sailing and a lot of windsurfing when I was in my teens. I have PADI open water and have dived in the Red Sea, Azores and Bonaire.
I am mechanically minded and skilled. I enjoy solving problems, fabricating or fixing things.
I'm tidy, like to cook, can fish, respect hierarchy, unbiased, absolutely love nature and the wild and always in for a good laugh.
In the foreseeable future I will own my own live aboard sailing vessel, leaving the Netherlands and cruising the Norwegian Artic coast.
I have all my own offshore gear, jackets, salopette, boots and accessories.
If after reading my pitch you have any tips or advice helping me search for a crew position, I would be very grateful.
Hope I sparked your interest and hope to hear from you!
