Early 30s couple, Europe to South America
Hi all,
My wife and I are looking at shipping our van over to South America for a filmmaking and research trip, however we're looking at getting over there by joining a sailing crew separately from the cargo boat.
A few things:
- I have lots of Mediterranean sailing experience since childhood but Katie has none, although she is super keen to learn and is extremely confident and at home in/on the water. On top of this she loves to cook nutritious meals and would be very happy to provide cooking services. Additionally I can offer filming and content editing in exchange.
- We have our 10 year old cat with us. She is a really laidback cat who has travelled across Europe and the UK with us in our van without any hiccups (so far!).
- We don't really have a time frame, and are happy to take it reasonably easy, as conditions and opportunities allow.
This is the first time either of us are undertaking a trip of this length on the water and we are looking for as much advice as possible! We are based between the UK, Germany and Portugal, but we're not sure where the van will be shipped from yet as we're still researching the best options with this also. Likely Netherlands/Belgium to Montevideo...
We are both laidback but hard working, love a challenge, and are eagerly awaiting our next adventure.
