Looking for a Deckhand/ carpenter position or Deck/Stew Couple position
Hi, I'm Noël, from South Africa. I'm looking for an opportunity to join a sailing or motor yacht as a deckhand, ideally on a private or family boat where I can become part of a small team and continue learning the industry.
I recently gained liveaboard and coastal sailing experience aboard SV Thabiti, helping with overnight watches, reefing, sail changes and anchoring under supervision. I also got involved in engine-room checks, troubleshooting and repairs—work I particularly enjoyed given my practical background.
My background includes film prop fabrication, construction and maintenance, with experience in fibreglass, carpentry, welding, plumbing and finishing. I’m happy getting stuck into repairs, daily upkeep or whatever needs doing aboard.
I hold STCW, a SAMSA medical certificate and PADI Open Water certification. Outside of work, I love nature, herbalism, woodworking, fishing and diving. I’m looking for a deckhand opportunity with a friendly, hardworking crew where I can contribute, and I'm excited to build my experience in sailing.
I'm reliable, easy to get along with and not afraid of hard work. My partner and I are both looking for opportunities in yachting or sailing, and we'd love to find a boat together if the right opportunity comes along. That said, I'm equally happy to be considered on my own.
I'm looking forward to learning from experienced crew, contributing wherever I can, and becoming a valuable part of a boat and its journey.
