Looking for a Deckhand or Competent Crew position
I’m an Italian professional deckhand working aboard sailing yachts and catamarans in the Mediterranean charter industry.
I entered the yachting industry with the goal of building a long-term career at sea and progressing towards becoming a professional skipper/captain. I already hold my STCW certification and seaman’s book, and I’m continuing my professional training towards a commercial 200 GT qualification, VHF/SRC certification and diesel engine maintenance, with further sailing qualifications as part of my progression.
My professional experience has given me hands-on knowledge of the daily reality of working and living aboard: deck operations, docking and manoeuvres, boat maintenance, guest operations, long working days and life as part of a small professional crew.
I’m now particularly interested in developing my offshore and bluewater sailing experience through ocean passages and Atlantic crossings. My goal is to build meaningful sea miles, improve my sailing, navigation and watchkeeping skills, and learn from experienced skippers and crews.
I’m hardworking, adaptable and comfortable with life aboard. I enjoy being part of a crew, I’m not afraid of physical work, and I’m always keen to learn, improve and take on more responsibility.
Ultimately, I’m working towards becoming a capable and experienced professional skipper, and I see every passage and every mile at sea as part of that journey.
