Experienced Sailing Skipper & Expedition Crew — Open to Captain, Mate, Deckhand & Delivery Positions
Hi, my name is Roman Petrov, 38, from Russia. I am an experienced sailing skipper and expedition crew member with 2,000+ NM of sea experience, currently looking for a paid professional position in the international yachting industry.
I am open to Sailing Skipper / Captain positions aboard smaller sailing yachts and catamarans within the limits of my qualifications and experience, as well as Mate, Lead Deckhand, Deckhand, Delivery Crew and Expedition/Charter Crew positions aboard larger vessels.

Sea Experience — 2,000+ NM
In 2025, I spent 55 days / approximately 1,500 NM in the Pacific Ocean aboard a 17 × 7 m expedition motor catamaran in Kamchatka, working as Assistant Captain / Expedition & Fishing Guide.
My responsibilities included navigational and anchor watches, helming under the Captain’s supervision, anchoring and mooring, operating a ~4 m motor tender, guest transfers, expedition and fishing operations, diver support and general vessel maintenance. I also assisted with engine drive-belt replacement, hydraulic steering troubleshooting, engine preparation, haul-out and winterisation.
During the 2026 season, I have worked as a Sailing Skipper at Parallel 56 Yacht Club, completing 80+ commercial guest sailings. My responsibilities include independent yacht handling, safety briefings, guest management and delivering safe and enjoyable sailing experiences.
I also have experience in sailing regattas as both a skipper and race officer.
My Mediterranean sailing experience includes two independent cruises aboard Beneteau Oceanis 40/43, including a 170 NM passage with heavy-weather conditions, as well as skipper training aboard a Beneteau First 47.7.

What I am looking for
My first preference is a paid Sailing Skipper / Captain position aboard a smaller sailing yacht or catamaran, where my existing skipper experience can be fully utilised.
I am equally interested in Mate, Lead Deckhand, Deckhand, Delivery Crew and Expedition/Charter Crew positions aboard larger yachts, where I can contribute my existing sailing, leadership, expedition and guest-service experience while continuing to build professional commercial sea time.
I am particularly interested in sailing yachts, catamarans, deliveries, charter operations and expedition vessels.
I am open to both seasonal positions and long-term / 12-month contracts.

English: A2 / elementary conversational and maritime English — actively improving

I am reliable, physically fit, hands-on and comfortable living aboard for extended periods. I am happy to take responsibility when required, but I am equally comfortable working as part of a professional crew and learning from more experienced captains and officers.
I am looking for paid professional opportunities. For short-term deliveries requiring international travel, travel expenses would need to be discussed in advance.
