Crew looking for the "late" Atlantic Crossing (December 2026 – February 2027)
Looking for a boat departing from the Canary Islands (or Cape Verde) in December or early January, heading for the Caribbean. As I need to be back at work by early March, the timing fits perfectly for the crossing itself followed by a couple of weeks of island hopping.
A bit about me:
I am a positive and energetic 28-year-old guy from Copenhagen, Denmark, currently working as a consulting engineer within MedTech. I absolutely thrive on and around the ocean, keep an open mind, and highly value good camaraderie and community on board.
What I bring to the table:
• Handy & practical: I have just rebuilt and fully restored a vintage motorcycle from scratch, so I am more than happy to roll up my sleeves and help out if any gear, electronics, or the engine needs troubleshooting along the way.
• Fluent Spanish: Having lived in South America for 1.5 years, I can easily handle communication with marina offices and help charm the locals to get the best prices on provisions and local rum when we hit Spanish-speaking waters.
• Diving experience: I am a certified diver with around 40 dives in my logbook. I am always ready to jump in the water to inspect the hull, check the prop, or clear the anchor if needed.
• Good vibes: I love contributing to a great atmosphere. I’m happy to bring along my guitar for a song or two during night watches, I'm ready to cook for the crew, take my turn at the dish rack with a smile, and I appreciate good, lighthearted banter on board.
• Sailing: I have a bit of experience in connection with diving trips. However, I am a very fast learner and look forward to fully contributing to the watch rotation from day one.
I will, of course, contribute my fair share to the boat kitty and cover all my own expenses regarding flights and insurance.
Are you looking for a reliable, practical, and open-minded crew member? Send me a message!
Fair winds,
Andreas
