Are you looking for an experienced easygoing crew ?
I'm happily married with 3 grown up children and 5 grandchildren. I've run my own manufacturing business for the last 40 years but am now more or less fully retired. My job involved design and engineering and as a result have numerous practical skills applicable to boat maintenance.
I've been dinghy sailing since I was 10 and still regularly race my Fireball dinghy. I also crew for friends in their cruisers, mainly in a 40ft Dufour and have made numerous trips from the UK to the Baltic, Holland, France and the Atlantic coast of Spain. These trips usually involve solo night watches often crossing busy shipping lanes aided by the use of chartplotters and radar. On several occasions when my family was younger I've taken my family on Flotilla holidays around the Greek Islands and Turkish coast.
Over the last couple of summers prior to Covid I've enjoyed several highly successful "Crewbay" trips sailing round the Greek Islands and the Turkish coast. My last trip was delivering a 40Ft Jeanneau from Preveza to Minorca via Sicily and Sardinia and involved several solo night watches.
As well as my dinghy racing I also play Tennis several times a week and as a result am much fitter than most men of my age.
I do not expect to be entertained on the boat. The primary purpose is to be a willing competent and conscientious crew whilst at the same time enjoying the company on board and of course the sailing. I enjoy visiting beautiful and interesting locations but I regard it as just an added bonus. If you want some quiet time, I'm more than happy to just read my book.
My temperament is very easy going and I keep a calm head in tense situations. I enjoy an occasional beer or glass of wine but am equally happy on a "dry" boat.
I have a clean driving licence, a PADI open water diving qualification and no criminal convictions.
Finally I'm financially solvent and am always happy to contribute my fair share.
