Looking for Delivery Crew, Mile Building & Comp Crew Sailing.
Hi - I'm seeking to gain miles for my Yachtmaster Offshore. Looking to help on deliveries, or assisting owners on long passages to build my mileage. I look forward to working with experienced Skippers, and gaining knowledge. I’m looking for Ocean / Offshore, or long coastal passages in UK or Europe. I am happy to do solo night watches.
In July 2023, I helped deliver a new Hanse 460 from Baltic Germany to Holland via Kiel Canal.
In March 2023, I helped deliver a new 42ft Cat from La Rochelle to Cascais, with a stop in Viverio, Northern Spain.
I'm based in Cheshire, UK. I have my own sailboat, a Westerly Griffon 26ft, and for the last three seasons I have been moored in North Wales, Coastal sailing around Anglesey with my wife and three children.
As a Farmer, I’m physically fit and used to working in all Weathers. In the past I worked as an Agricultural Engineer, working in Steel Fabrication, and servicing and maintaining Tractors and Agricultural Machinery.
I am also skilled in the art of boat cooking!

Reliable and fun crew
James joined me for the Atlantic part of a delivery I was skippering from La Rochelle to Athens, to fill in for my usual crewmember who had to jump off for ten days. We sailed double handed across Biscay and down the Portuguese coast in late March in challenging conditions. Normally I hesitate to bring on crew I've not worked with before for this kind of trip, but I didn't need to worry at all, James stayed in touch and showed up exactly when he said he would, we slipped lines almost immediately to make a weather window and went straight out into the Atlantic with darkness falling. He immediately settled into our watchkeeping schedule and the entire trip was made easier with him being on board. I'd recommend James to anyone looking for crew, competent, professional, yet also a great fun guy to have with you. I wish him all the best with his future sailing adventures!!
