Looking for long term passages
Ahoy fellows of the seas,
My mid-term goal is to own a boat and sail the seven seas, so I am keen to learn the sailing alphabet from ‘A’ like anchor, over ‘O’ like ‘Oh sh*t…,I thought we had more water under the keel’, to ‘Z’ like Zulu. I would be very happy to join longer passages and help with every works aboard or onshore to overhaul and prepare.
Currently I am in Trinidad working on a boat which is meant to sail to Panama...but thanks to a little Virus everything is unsure... Before crossing the Atlantic, I was sailing (…well, there were no sails on that ship) with a NGO in Africa. I would like to continue travelling without flying, so I am looking for any boats in the Caribbean.
My bluewater sailing skills are basic, but I am a fast learner and motivated. I crossed the Atlantic, sailed about 300nm on a monohull in Greece. I have the german boat licenses for inland and coastal waters and sailed yawls for some years now. Working as an engineer for vessel automation and electrics I have been sailing on merchant vessels around the globe for 10 years. So I know the life offshore, was never seasick and can stand long watches day and night.
I am an open-minded, social and very adaptable person. I am easy going, but hard working and serious whenever needed. I love being at, in, on (surfing especially) or under the ocean and going with the flow of nature. I am adventurous and like sharing these moments with like-minded people. I am willed to contribute with any expenses. If you have a cookbook I can cook, if not you can choose between a large variety of 2 different delicious pasta dishes. If you have a guitar and don’t expect Jimi Hendrix riffs, we might have fun. Photography is hobby of me, I would be glad to capture our adventures in pictures.
Fair winds to you all
Patrick
