Looking for a temporary/permanent position as Captain, 1st Mate or Captain/Engineer position
I work as a professional skipper with a Spanish license for sail and motor yachts (Patrón Profesional de Embarcaciones de Recreo, PPER or Patron de Altura Master 500Gt, or Patron Portuario 500Gt) and also work on foreign flag yachts with RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Ocean Sail certificate with commercial endorsement (Master 200).
Recently received my CoC Master 500 and keep working my way up, so I can share knowledge.
I have been sailing S/Cat and S/Y 38’ to 73’ as a self-employed skipper for the past 9 years and it has become my main professional activity for the last 7years.
I finalized (May 2019) a one year contract as Solo Captain-Engineer on-board a 20m British-flagged Trader M/Y cruising the Med with the live aboard owners and sometimes their guests, where I have accrued a broad set of experience and knowledge of M/Y, but for my career progress towards Master 500 and higher certificates I am looking to embark to accrue required sea time.
I‘m a keen sailor, have a wide range of engineering skills and a can-do attitude which has taken me this far. I am a confident sailor with good seamanship, familiar with night watch and navigation rules. Confident in handling lines and maneuvering and well understand the roles of Captain and Mate.
I have experience in use, maintenance and service of all common equipment on board: engine, genset, aircon, water-maker, water heater, air heaters, hydraulic systems, air compressor, battery charger, power banks, cranes, davits, tender, outboard, etc.
I am able to troubleshoot, and track the malfunction of most electronic and mechanical devices and solve the issue without supervision. I am able to completely maintain the exterior of the vessel with the correct products and to keep the yacht ship-shape.
