Me and my partner are looking for a boat to crew on to develop our sailing skills. Currently in Western Australia
Hi all.
Me and my partner are looking for a boat to crew on to develop our sailing skills. We are currently in Nannup Western Australia and are available in short term for crewing on a sailing boat in Australia. We have put our careers on a hold for a year to have adventures on land and sea.
I’m a dutch man that moved to australia in 2011. After a year in Melbourne I followed a wish for adventure and moved to a remote location in the Kimberley where I lived and worked for 8 years. I worked with the traditional owners of Australia in conservation and land management in one of the most remote locations of Australia. I wish to gain more sailing experience together with my partner and possibly buy our own boat in the next year.
My partner is Stacey Larke. An amazing strong and positive Australian woman. She has worked as a social worker and art therapist in the Kimberley and keen to develop her sailing skills.
I’m healthy, independent, positive, hard working and able to adjust easily to different situations. I enjoy social interactions and i’m used to living closely with other people in shared small spaces.
I have a Batchelor Degree in social work and certificates in Conservation and Land management. Current advanced and wilderness first aid, police checks and working with children checks. I’m in the possession of coxswains certificate grade 1 near coastal that lets me operate a powered vessel up to 12 meter commercially 20NM offshore. I have done the RYA day skipper practical course in 2019. Kitesurf, dive and snorkel experience and strong connection to sea as I grown up close to the North Sea in the Netherlands.
Hope to make my sailing dreams happen by learning from more experienced sailors and share some great time on the water and meet new people.
