Looking to join short term recreational sailing trips or deliveries in New Zealand - Based Mt Maunganui
Ahoy! - I'm a keen novice sailor hoping to get onboard with an experienced and fun-minded vessel.
I'm based in Mount Maunganui with a flexible work schedule and looking at gaining experience with recreational vessels or deliveries.
My sailing experience is mainly limited to a 24 foot keeler which a couple friends and I bought, repaired and taught ourselves to sail on the East coast of New Zealand. I learnt a lot with this boat, mainly due to many things going wrong and needing to be fixed for cheap on the fly. I have fallen for sailing and very keen to sail on bigger yachts and learn from experienced skippers and crew. I have recently crewed on a passage from New Cal back to NZ.
Ocean hobbies besides sailing are surfing and spearfishing but I'll give anything a go. I'm a quick learner, practical, tidy, up for a laugh, easy company and can cook. I'm very comfortable on the water and sea sickness has never been an issue.
