Any Boat, Any Time!
Experienced maritime professional with a robust background in water sports instruction, vessel management, and program development. With a lifelong passion for sailing and water-based activities, I have cultivated a career that spans diverse roles across multiple countries. My journey began in Gaborone, Botswana, where I honed my skills and developed a deep understanding of maritime operations at the local yacht club. This foundation led to various instructional and leadership roles, including developing and coaching a rowing program for high school students and managing complex maritime activities at UKSA in the UK.
Certified as an RYA Cruising Instructor and holding numerous qualifications, including the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Skippers Ticket and BSUPA Paddleboard Level 2 Coach, I bring a comprehensive skill set to every role. My expertise covers a wide range of water sports, from sailing and kayaking to advanced powerboat handling and windsurfing. Additionally, I possess strong navigational skills, particularly with traditional nautical charts, and excel in problem-solving, especially in high-pressure environments involving equipment failures or malfunctions.
In my professional experience, I have successfully managed teams, organized and conducted training sessions, and overseen the maintenance of various watercraft. My tenure at UKSA involved not only instructing a variety of water sports but also managing the racing program and maintaining the fleet of dinghies and keelboats. As a freelance maritime professional in South Africa, I completed numerous yacht deliveries and participated in competitive racing, further enhancing my practical knowledge and leadership capabilities.
My additional competencies in plumbing, mechanics, and carpentry complement my maritime expertise, making me a versatile and valuable asset to any team. Driven by a love for adventure and a commitment to excellence, I aim to continue advancing in the maritime industry, with a long-term goal of circumnavigating the globe.
