Experienced sailor looking for a way to get back to his boat in Grenada (February, from Europe)
Hi, I'm looking for a way to get back to my own boat in Grenada. Starting anywhere from Spain/Portugal/Canaries/CaboVerde for a late crossing in February. If you are late in the season don't worry it offers great established trades, good boat speeds and less squalls! Destination Grenada is a must for me.
In February 2020 I have crossed the Atlantic on my own sailboat a 36 foot Hallberg Rassy. After spending time in Cabo Verde, French Guyana and Suriname I arrived in Grenada just a week earlier then Covid-19. I have been in Lockdown and decided to store my own boat for Hurricane season and subsequently help sail a HR53 back to Europe from Grenada.
I'm 34 years old and have been sailing since a child. I have owned three boats 27ft 31ft 36ft on all of which I have done extensive refits. I'm skilled with electronics and electrics. I have a YM Offshore and since done around 15k nautical miles as skipper in the Med, Northsea, Baltic, Atlantic and Pacific. I'm very nerdy with navigation, routing and weather and use state of the art tech to do so. I have never been in a serious storm or serious trouble. I plan meticulously and am not up for any cowboy deliveries.
When not sailing I work as a freelance film producer in advertising and think of my self as being a respectful, confident person with lots of humor.
Currently at home in Switzerland working until end of January. Please find my nautical resume in the download section for more details.
My primary goal is to get back to Grenada. Depending on your needs I'm interested to crew and contribute. I'm also up for a payed role and deliveries with various destination.
Wishing you all safe passages and good winds!
Cheers Alex
