Professional Yacht Captain (200GT Power & Sail), RYA Instructor and experienced marine technical professional, with over 10 years of international experience in yacht operations, engineering, refits and vessel management.
Having commanded private and charter yachts up to 116ft, I offer a comprehensive background extending well beyond traditional captaincy. My experience encompasses extensive vessel refits, complex mechanical and engineering repairs, bespoke upgrades, new-build commissioning, manufacturer warranty claims, insurance-related damage assessments, survey coordination and technical project management.
I have worked extensively with premium European and American-built motor yachts, including Sunseeker, Princess, Fairline, Prestige, Azimut, Beneteau, Lazzara, Hatteras and Marlow, together with specialist Dutch-built yachts such as Vanquish and Wajer, and high-performance vessels and tenders including Skipper RIBs.
My technical experience includes diagnosing and coordinating solutions to complex engineering issues, overseeing shipyards and specialist contractors, managing repair specifications, sourcing equipment and components, and ensuring work is completed to a high professional standard. I am experienced in liaising with yacht owners, manufacturers, surveyors, insurers and loss adjusters, maintaining clear communication and protecting owners’ interests throughout each project.
Alongside technical management, I have a strong operational background in yacht deliveries, sea trials, vessel commissioning, crew management, safety compliance, preventative maintenance and owner handovers. My RYA instructional qualifications complement a practical, hands-on approach to vessel operations and crew development.
I am commercially aware, organised and solutions-focused, with a reputation for taking ownership of challenges, managing multiple priorities and delivering results. Equally comfortable at the helm, in the engine room or coordinating a major refit, I understand the importance of reliability, discretion, attention to detail and maintaining exceptional standards.
