Deckhand
I understand that after seeing in my CV what I have done professionally since I was 20, one might ask, “Why the change?” and “Why now?” Reasonable questions, yes. But the answers wouldn´t add much. After all, ‘change’ is part of life. And as for the ‘now’, I have reached this point after following a long path over the past five years.
So, let's get to the important stuff: “who am I”. I am... someone who wants to sail. And who also wants to make a living out of it.
I am aware that I do not have much sailing experience. But even with that, I have sailed on my own, renting sailboats whenever time and money allowed. On the last two occasions (on a BAVARIA 38 sailboat), crossing from Altea to Ibiza at night, then sailing between different coves until reaching Formentera, before crossing back to Altea again.
On the other hand, contrary to what might appear at first glance, my experience in the industry is an advantage, as I have been taught to skilfully handle all kinds of tools. To react quickly when a problem arises and solve it, with the means at my disposal. Not to mention getting my body used to fatigue and long working shifts.
Anyway... I think I should wrap this up before I run out of space, and maybe do the same with your patience!
Just remember: I could be the perfect match!
