Looking for a Deckhand, Welder, Fitter or Chef position
I am looking for an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working aboard a sailing yacht as a deckhand, welder, fitter, mechanic’s assistant, or chef/cook.
I am new to the yachting industry, but I am eager to learn, hardworking, sober, reliable, and easy to get along with. I understand that experience is earned, not handed over, and I am willing to start at the bottom, work hard, and trade higher pay for the chance to learn properly.
By trade, I am a welder, and I have practical experience with mechanical repairs, fabrication, maintenance, tools, and problem-solving. I am comfortable getting my hands dirty, working long hours, and helping wherever needed. I would be useful for general maintenance, metalwork, repairs, deck duties, cleaning, watchkeeping assistance, and day-to-day vessel operations.
I also have a real passion for cooking and would be very willing to work as the chef or cook aboard. I enjoy preparing good, practical meals and would be happy to help with meal planning, provisioning, galley duties, cleaning, and feeding the crew well. I also make excellent espresso, which I know can go a long way on early mornings and long days at sea. I understand that on a boat, good food and good coffee matter.
I am especially interested in sailing yachts because I want to learn seamanship, boat handling, maintenance, and life at sea from people with real experience. I bring a calm attitude, a strong work ethic, and no ego. I am sober, dependable, and respectful of shared living spaces.
I am open to paid, low-paid, or experience-based opportunities, depending on the vessel and role. My priority is to learn, contribute, and become a valuable crew member.
