Looking for a boat from Indonesia/Timor-Leste to Australia
Hello good people =)
My name is Andreas, I am a German-Norwegian who is currently on an around-the-bicycle ride. I left my home in Oslo in April 2022 and have cycled more than 22,000 kilometers through all of Europe and Asia so far.
I am currently in South-East Asia and will reach Indonesia in about three weeks. My plan was to cruise down Sumatra and Java and then cycle/ferryboat my way towards Timor-Leste with the goal of reaching Australia.
I would love to join a crew that is heading towards Australia, preferably Darwin, where I will continue my ride into WA. If you sail somewhere else in Australia, I would very much to open to adjust my plans.
As for now though, my plan is to reach Bali in mid/late October and I could hop onto a boat anywhere between Denpasar and Dili (very flexible).
It would be great to get to sail again as it is one of the things I miss the most while being away from Norway. And it would allow me to continue my journey without taking an airplane.
I have little experience with sailing, but have done my fair share of sailing with friends and family in the waters of Norway and Sweden. Could easily help out as a deckhand, world-class fisherman (at least that is what I think ;)), nightwatch , mechanic or as a chef - certainly not as a skipper though.
Would be super happy to find a crew to join, or if you know someone who know's someone, I am equally happy if you could refer me or send me a contact.
Cheers and stay safe,
Andreas
PS: The bicycle can be disassembled for storage
