Local sailing, or further around NSW to build my sailing skills.
My name is Rob and I’m currently based near Palm Beach, Sydney (NSW). I’m looking to crew on sailing vessels travelling up the coast or for local sailing opportunities within NSW, and I’m also keen to join longer voyages further afield. I’d love the opportunity to come aboard.
I have extensive sailing experience across Europe, West Africa, and the Mediterranean. Having recently relocated to Australia, I now work professionally as a documentary filmmaker, with credits including the BBC and VICE, as well as touring internationally as a camera operator for major artists. My particular passion is in-water photography and videography, and I bring professional camera equipment on board, including underwater housings.
Beyond sailing and filmmaking, I’m a keen cook and previously worked as a chef in restaurants earlier in my career. I’m also an enthusiastic fisherman and surfer, and have travelled to over 65 countries — I’m very comfortable living and working at sea with people from all walks of life.
