Channel Race 2025

The Channel Race offers sailors an exciting and challenging experience, whether you’re looking to refine your existing skills or take on new learning opportunities. This race covers 110 to 160 nautical miles, navigating around the Isle of Wight and key marks in the Solent. It combines coastal and offshore elements that require a strategic mix of skill, endurance, and adaptability.

Ideal for both seasoned sailors and those eager to develop their racing skills, the Channel Race is renowned for its dynamic course. Competitors face varying wind patterns, tidal streams, and navigation challenges, all set against the scenic backdrop of the English Channel and the Isle of Wight.

We recommend you arrive the day/night before.


Day 1 - 18th July 2025 Welcome Aboard
Join us in the evening for a social meal at a local restaurant in Hamble. You are welcome to stay on board this evening.

Day 2 - 19th July 2025 Channel Race
0700 meet in Hamble for a quick safety briefing
0800 depart Hamble for Cowes
0950 First warning signal. The race takes about 24 hours to complete.

Please note this is based on the 2024 notice of race. The times above may change slightly.

Day 3 - 20th July 2025 Channel Race Finish
All being well, you should finish the race around 1000 on Sunday July 20th and be back in Hamble by the early afternoon.

The boat was well taken care of, had enough safety gear. Neil -the skipper- was awesome, I learned a lot. Recommended.
