  • Boat descriptionShe was originally built by Paragon Composite for the “1989/90 Whitbread Round the World Race” (the forerunner of the Volvo Ocean Race and now Ocean Race) where she finished fourth. Originally sailed with a crew of up to 16 people and it took 131 days to complete the 33,000 nautical mile course.  Since finishing The Whitbread in 1989/90 and winning the Sydney – Hobart (1990) she has been kept in pristine condition in Scandinavia (Sweden) and successfully campaigned in 2003 winning the “Round Gotland” race and finishing up the order in other Scandinavian regattas 4th in “ÅF Offshore Race – round Gotland” in 2015. This 1989 Humphreys 81ft Kevlar/Carbon/Epoxy fractional sloop Maxi Racer benefits from a full refit in 2011 & 2021 (immediately after purchase) and new Cummins 4BT 150hp engine in 2014.  She offers an classic maxi potential. She is an iconic yacht, a great LADY… She has been well restored and covered to be as close to the original as possible and in a fantastic condition and has been continuously maintained. Apart from some new electronics/navigation system from SAILMON & a new sail garderobe from DOYLE SAILS during her refit planned in October'21, she is in her original racing trim down below and will have as said a complete refit from October'21 till March'22. She benefits from being recently fully faired and painted including hull and topsides, continuous upgrading of the navigation instruments over the past 4 years & much more.
