Warm, happy and keen couple about to quit our jobs and start learning for our own liveaboard!
Hi!
Thanks for checking us out :) Looking for a skipper and boat that will take my partner, Carmen, and I for extended cruising, having a good laugh while we work hard to learn and move towards our dream of living aboard our own one day.
Traveling by sail has always been a huge dream of mine, hearing about my parents' ventures before I was born. Now is the time to make it happen. Carmen and I are quitting our jobs, shedding all the unnecessary baggage and getting going. Aiming for March 2022 to fly anywhere we can.
I'm 32, from Sydney, my passions are most things ocean, surfing, sailing, exploring, freediving. I love the technical and engineering elements of sailing. A part of me wished I became an engineer, but instead I've been a paramedic in NZ and London (and on a superyacht for a little while there) over the past 8 years. I'm a warm people person and I love to laugh, share stories and learn from others.
Carmen is 30 and from New Zealand. She's clever and blunt, funny and warm, selfless and kind. She loves bringing people together, making excellent tasty food. She's also an administrative genius who just inexplicably finds a way through red tape and makes things work bloody well. I've made a little head way with teaching her to surf and she's doing pretty well on the sailing front!
We have a small keeler which we take out on Auckland Harbour and we've been having some fantastic times out there. I've learnt what little I know of sailing through some basic courses, twighlight racing and a bit of learn by doing. I've still got a lot to learn and that's why we need to just cut ties and start doing it with our whole lives, rather than the odd weekend.
Take us for a few weeks, a few months, 6 months, whatever. Happy to commit to a set period. Open ended plans are fine too.
Hope we can help each other.
Cheers,
Bryden & Carmen
