We're keen sailors looking find another adventure together!!!

Hi there, We're Leah and Toby, we are currently at Uni in Exeter where I (Toby) am studying Mechanical engineering and Leah's studying Drama and Communications. We're looking for an opportunity to get back on a boat and build up some more miles along with sailing to some cool places and experience more adventures at sea. We’re available mid-March to early April, or June through September, and are open to anything from coastal hops to longer offshore passages.

We are both keen surfers, I Windsurf and Wing-foil and Leah is a Kite-Surfer and loves to scuba dive and is working towards her PADI. We have both always loved sailing and are really hoping to do some more serious crossing in the next couple years. Any opportunities to jump back on a boat would be amazing.

(Toby):
Having grown up round sailors I’ve spent a fair amount of time on boats including going into the Arctic circle in Norway on a 34 ft sloop, sailing in the Whitsundays on a 45ft Cat, sailing the English Channel and the Med every other summer since I was young in a mix of boats. Growing up with my parents as big sailors we would go out as much as we could. I have also taught siling up to small Keel boats for the last 5 years. More recently i have spent just over a week sailing in the Quays round Belize. In march 2024 I spent just under 2 months doing a delivery from Cebu (Philippines) to Townsville (Australia) on a 42ft Lagoon around Indonesia and down the coast of Papua and New Guinea. We spent 42 days at sea and covered roughly 3500 miles. I did everything from helping cook to night shifts and repairs on the go. We spent 2 weeks in Cebu before hand where I along with the skipper refitting the boat making it ocean ready repairing the engine, lines and plumbing throughout the boat. I have a rudimentary knowledge of boat mechanics and general repairs most of which was taught to me by the skipper on the delivery. That trip taught me a lot and I would love the opportunity to do a trip like that again.

(Leah)

I come from a family of strong adventurers, my dad is set to sail across the Atlantic next year, I am motivated to build up my own sea miles so I can join him on future adventures. I completed my competent crew in Sydney harbour and spent my childhood summers sailing the rugged west coast of Scotland, where I developed my confidence at sea, including multiple passages through the gulf of Corryvreckan and therefore developed a somewhat immunity to sailing in harsh conditions. I later completed my day skipper in Plymouth and expanded my experience through sailing in the med and the Cyclades, we encounters some heavy storms with gusts up to 40 knots, which taught me the importance of being able to handle challenging waters, varied weather and tidal gates .
