Morg: Life on board requires humility and respect.

Responsible people who can bring some special knowledge, and who are looking for life's big adventures.

I'm not a high risk-taking skipper and want to have a crew that not have problem with drugs or alcohol or have a criminal background.

science and surf under sail

Crew wanted: Amateur crew
Vessel: Sailing Boat

JezzaG: To Spread environmental info thru travel, sport, art and day to day life with locals as we sail through the South Pacific. I think there are plenty of people preaching to the converted in the major arteries of society but, I/we can provide the conversations and the divestment of info and understanding through to the capillaries...like a street performer, a busker of citizen science.

Science and Surf under Sail is an organization in it's very most nebulous form...I offer it to you to mould and shape together with me.

The general concept is to have a two year cycle through the South Pacific from Southern Baja to New Zealand and back. To have that route posted on a web site in order to attract surfers and marine/environmental students to share in various legs of the journey. We will be willing to deviate from our posted track to suite the purposes of guests based on the merits of their research or activity. I would like to travel in a small armada of sail boats in order to host a larger group of guests and achieve a wider sampling or observation or just plain fun. I would like to have the added dimension of this endeavor to be a sort of correspondent based webisode reporting on environment activities and how the are affecting people and how those people are responding to these environmental impacts on their homes and villages. We would also have a sport report, leisure and fun as well as art and food.

I am good at picking up work as I travel in order to fund my own way. I am presently working as a captain of a high tech power vessel for the rich and famous here in Cabo and La Paz, Mexico. I am also a carpenter/joiner, designer/sculptor...good with my hands and can make most of our day to day maintenance and repairs...mechanical, electrical, plumbing, an understanding of our shipboard systems. Now, I want to create a meaning greater than just my own experience and fun...I am no philanthropist but, I see a way to put back, to give back and have fun doing it. I'd like help...participants as partners and crew.

There's a non-profit, A truly non-profit living that can be achieved. Like the pirate ships, environmental privateers of Oceanic equanimity, we'll share the take equally and one extra for the ship. Should we be somehow fortunate enough to make more that we need it gets forwarded on as the partners and crew deem fit...now I am a dreamer...Hey? But, I think it is an imperative that all of us thinking, concerned people that call the seas and oceans of this World "home" become informed, educated and engaged or we truly risk loosing the last bastion of freedom. I can see the technology fast gaining the ability to monitor every moving thing in every remote corner of our planet and once the illegal commercial activities are under control then, yours and mine, our simple activities may come under scrutiny...and it might even seem right to require licenses and permits and fees and charges to move about or live off the land or sea as the case may be. So, we can not become unworthy or irresponsible or complacent with our current freedoms to move about the place.

Many thanks for reading this roughing out of my thoughts but, the final draft will be based on all the input from the founding members...My warmest regards, Jerrid of the "Quo Vadis" 37' Snowgoose, cutter and the "Salvation" 45' wooden Bermuda cutter, ketch a Jim Swanson design I would like to save, needs work.

There is more i would like to add to this, a conversation without end but, for now...A simple and genuine "thank you" for your interest and all the responses to date. It is good to see how many folks are concerned and keen to participate. I work as a captain on a private vessel, I am looking for my line of succession for that roll as I look to the South Pacific.Other characters I would like on board: A marine biologist correspondent, a ocean sport correspondent, web development volunteers, camera type person, maybe a producer type person would be nice, shipwright/carpenter type persons...Seafaring folk, other captains and small ships under sail. Many thanks again...

SVSatori

Seeking Crew Bahamas to Bermuda

Crew wanted: Competent Crew
Vessel: Sailing Boat
Size:37 f
Location: United States
Destination: Bahamas, The
Logged in: 25 minutes ago

SVSatori: Seeking experienced and/or interested crew for passage from West Palm Beach or the Bahamas to Bermuda for the Americas Cup Races.

Satori has being undergoing extensive refitting of a couple of her key systems, as well as the addition of 200W of solar panels in WPB, and will be ready and is heading to the Bahamas soon!

From there the plan is to either head back to WPB and then to Bermuda or possibly to sail straight to Bermuda from the Bahamas. After that back to the US and N for the summer.

If the fit is right the opportunity to crew aboard Satori is open ended.

Private deliveries

Crew wanted:
Vessel: Sailing Boat
Size:40 f
Location: England
Destination: New Zealand
Logged in: 27 minutes ago

jonmartins: My sailing ventures are of purchasing reasonably priced yachts and then delivering them to where a profitable sale will lead to sufficient enough funds for a repeat :)

Crew is SOMETIMES needed. Individuals with real attitude. Couples, group of friends or someone just looking for an experience are unfortunately not desired.

When not delivering, sailing around New Zealand, Cook Islands, Fiji and Tonga. Have shifted from my steel darling I built 10 years ago to a simpler, smaller and more practical Davidson 28.

Perhaps the closest to an old school pirate, I am actually an incomplete paraplegic on crutches but most of the time on a wheelchair. In 2014 I became the first para to sail single-handed across the Pacific.

CAKEHEADS

Short Term Position for Dive Instructor/Deckie

Crew wanted: Dive Instructor
Vessel: Power Boat
Size:25 m
Location: South Africa
Destination: Maldives
Logged in: 28 minutes ago

CAKEHEADS: I am currently exploring the possibility/options of adding an extra team member for a Cape Town to Maldives crossing. Ideally I am looking for someone who is keen to exchange scuba diving instruction in the Maldives and deckhand/stew duties for crossing hours & experience aboard a 25m power cat. Current crew is South African & Australian; young, sporty and enthusiastic. Owners are active. Boat was purpose built for kite surfing in remote locations. The position is short term (approximate 2.5 to 3 months) with the potential to extend further to Indonesia if arrangement is working well for all parties. Non-smokers only. If you are interested in opening a dialogue, please send me your resume.
