Captain - Temporary / Seasonal - $TBD - Antigua / Barbuda

Hi, I'm looking for a Yachtmaster Ocean skipper for a transatlantic from St Maarten to the UK. The boat is a Harmony 52, coded Cat 0 so appropriate medical qualifications for a Cat 0 crossing is desirable. There will be a week of prep, repairs, maintenance, upgrades, and cleaning before a father and son arrive for the crossing. All correspondence with the gusts has been very positive, they are a down-to-earth, flexible, and really lovely pair, the hope is for a brief stop in the Azores before continuing on to Europe. Salary is dependent on experience.

Yachts in terrible condition !

Be extremely wary of this so called 'academy'. SY Sao Jorge had significant repairs done to keel and mast (with plate added to mast !). Owner of this UK flagged vessel refused to share the (by UK Lawrequired) certificates with regards to these 'fixes'. In my perception, the owner is just some random English guy that bought worn down and damaged yachts, trying to make easy and quick money, at the expense and risk of skippers and paying passengers.

Sailed with them across the Atlantic in 2019.

The boat was well taken care of, had enough safety gear. Neil -the skipper- was awesome, I learned a lot. Recommended.
