Watch: Cruising off of Beachy Head
Owner/Skipper of Blue Water Cruiser looking for Crewmates
I don't work in the marine industry as a professional skipper. However I have been on boats since I was an infant and learned sailing from my late Father as soon I was strong enough and mature.
I did my first night watch across to Cherbourg at age 13.
I am a social person and prefer company aboard. She could be sailed single handed but the Genoa Sheet winches are currently unreachable from the helm so the Autopilot would be necessary for tacking and as I said, I prefer people to my own company.
I'm looking for people who love to sail and have a bit of experience or plenty of it, for weekend and long weekends or holidays on a regular basis to cruise the English Channel and Northern France, maybe The North Sea across to Holland, Belgium or the full limit of the territories covered in my Insurance.
This is purely for Social and Leisure purposes and to enjoy sailing and travel.
Candidates are responsible for thier own costs for getting to the marina in Southampton.
Food supplies and Cooking will be shared as will be Fuel. You can bring fuel with you as I do mostly or if we need to refuel at a port we can split the cost. Naturally as the owner, wear and tear and maintenance is down to me alone but there will be times when another pair of hands will be needed so any voluntary help would be welcome and gratefully accepted.
All are welcome. She is a well Equipped and fast Blue Water Cruiser. I understand through reading the entries in the ships log by previous owners, that she was raced for a few seasons and won some Silverware.
I did Dayskipper some years ago and I recently completed RYA Yachtmater Theory in preparation for Coastal Yachtmater Practical.
Well I hope that I have chosen and invested in the right site.
I look forward to hearing from keen Sailing enthusiasts that don't own a boat and dont get the opportunity to sail as often as they would like. Mile builders also welcome
I am self employed so my time is reasonably flexible for weekdays if I know a little in advance.
Let's get out on the water and enjoy but saftey is Paramount so you will need your own gear to keep you safe.
The boat has runing Jackstays and I have plenty of clip on safety leads.
