Watch: Perfect Sushi Rice
West Coast Canadian Crew Member
I enjoy preparing and cooking healthy snacks and meals. I keep a clean, stocked, and organized galley.
As a deckhand, I work the fenders, lines, and anchor; make water; fuelling; drive the dinghy tender; watch keeping, and am confident to take the helm on open waters, if required. I would like to gain more experience with sailing. I sometimes do yoga and can lead others, if they want.
My goals are to build miles, earn a living wage, contribute however I can, and to keep learning.
A vessel with calm, confident crew where communication, safety, and healthy lifestyle are important preferred.
In Oct/Nov 2022, I completed 2000NM on a training delivery from Connecticut to Fort Pierce (during Hurricane Nicole) then went on to cook/stew/mate for a one-week charter, including creating the food service plan, menu design, and provisioning in The Bahamas. I was in charge of managing local housekeeping crew. Back in Fort Lauderdale, I did a housekeeping inventory, sourced dishes and linens, and upgraded my culinary skills.
The next three months were spent in Mexico, followed by a short nanny/teacher stint in Florida.
Summer 2023, back in Canada in the beautiful Muskoka lakes region, I worked as a land-based Family Assistant. Reference letter available upon request.
