Watch: Challenge Wales
Great Last Minute Opportunity for Under 26 year olds; Whitehaven to Neyland (13th - 18th July)
Challenge Wales is a 72-foot ex racing yacht and now undertakes a significant amount of work with young people aged under 26 years as well as adult only adventures.
This opportunity is for those aged 16 - 25 years with very little/limited or some sailing experience to really help them on their way to being a valuable crew person and adding to their sailing CV. Whether this is your first time using CrewBay or you wanting to build some experience for your next Crewbay opportunity this voyage will help you build confidence, seamiles, experience, improve your navigation and seamanship as well as improving leadership and teamwork skills.
The voyage: This is a lastminute opportunity and we are looking for 3 people who are keen to be part of our crew. You will join in Whitehaven (Lake District - nearest train station Whitehaven with links to Carlisle and rest of UK) for 4pm on Saturday 13th July and depart around 10am on Thursday 18th July in Neyland (nearest station is Milford Haven which is a short taxi ride away).
You will need to make your own travel arrangements to and from the boat. All food/refreshments/snacks/safety equipment/life jackets/mooring fees/marina fees are covered on a shared contribution. There is some funding supporting this voyage (which is why it is only open to those under 26 years) so the contribution cost is £100.
Other people on the voyage are there to meet new people, improve their sailing skills and may be looking to do their Gold DofE residential. But there are always lots of different reasons why people jump aboard Challenge Wales. Our supportive volunteer crew and expert Skipper is there to ensure everyone gets the best out of the voyage.
As this is a last minute opportunity we suggest when responding to us, if you do require to book that you include your email address to ensure we can respond quicker to you.
