Longterm Cruising Summer 2022.

I'm looking for crew for my 2022 adventures. In brief the plan is:
Leave UK summer 2022
Spend a few months in the Mediterranean until about October then move to Canary Islands
Leave in December to cross the Atlantic to Caribbean.
Spend the next few years cruising the world.

I only want people I know and have sailed with me before, so you'll need to sail earlier in 2022 to qualify. Weeks at sea test everyone's patience with each other so you have to be a good fit. Sharing a boat for a weekend is one thing, 1000 miles offshore and 2 weeks into a trip is a completely different matter (often underestimated by a lot of people on these sites). If you have never spent time at sea this is not for you, I want proven ocean going/long distance sailors.
I need a a good mix of crew.
Diving qualifications are a plus.
I expect a lot of messages, don't be offended if I don't respond.

  • Boat descriptionThe Boat is a 53' Ketch with a large Genoa, Staysail and Spinnaker. If you think sailing is about sitting in the cockpit pulling the odd bit of coloured string, this is not for you, but if you don't mind getting and understanding for what you are doing, we're the one. The boat is set up for Blue Water Cruising, with all associated equipment and safety gear. However Crew would be expected to bring their own foul weather clothing and lifejackets. I have a couple of Harness straps but if you have your own that's good. We have the usual electronics, Radar, GPS, Plotter, Autopilot, Wind, Speed, Depth, AIS. She performs well and is quick.

Weekend sail

Thanks Paul for a great weekend of sailing in the Solent! And thanks for the extra navigation lessons! Look forward to seeing you again soon as soon as weather allows. Paul was an excellent skipper and has a beautiful, safe and exciting boat. He is an excellent host and takes time to coach some of the less experienced crew. Great guy. Recommend strongly!

Weekend Sail

We had a great sail, Paul and the other crew helping us along our learning curve. Good laugh, sailing, sunshine and a few beers with nice people. Paul is a down to earth genuine guy.
